Lar Syrah

The pool was really cold, so we barely used it. We also kept the curtains shut because the windows face inward, even though the structure is technically open and outside. Other guests walking past could look into our room. Apart from that, we had a great stay and would come back. The beds were great, we slept like babies, and we weren’t really bothered by door or neighbor noise.

The on-site staff were excellent and went above and beyond to help with my needs. I hope the hotel can respond faster to cold water problems for future guests. I had no hot water for my entire stay until the last day, and had to shower in freezing water every day. I reported it several times, and they said they’d send someone to fix it, but it never got fixed. I’m waiting to hear back about some kind of compensation because it really put a damper on my stay. Without this one glaring issue, I’d give the hotel 5 stars. Honestly, it was a great hotel otherwise.

I enjoyed staying here a lot. It was clean and safe, and perfectly located for getting to what Oaxaca City has to offer. The staff were caring and helpful. I’ll recommend it to anyone.

The location is fantastic, right in the middle of the city, with everything within walking distance. The Mediterranean look is generally nice, too. But construction corners seem to have been cut. The doors aren’t fitted well, with gaps that let in a lot of noise and mosquitoes, including around the entry door. There are no bathroom fans, and we heard loud noise from the front door opening and closing all night.
