Los Pilares Hotel

A cute hotel with a rooftop, and really friendly, helpful staff. Great shops all around, including places for coffee, mezcal, and local goodies.

We had a lovely breakfast here. The terrace is beautiful, and both the food and the service were great. I'd definitely recommend it for food and drinks.

The rooftop food was really good at lunch, and the drinks were great too. It closes at 6, though, so we couldn’t have dinner there one evening. Getting back at night was easy, with no wait to enter, and walking around at 8-10 pm felt safe. We didn’t go out later. The livelier parts of centro are about a 5-10 minute walk away. Our room was fine, if a little worn, with marks and dings on the walls and ceiling. The bed was firmer than we’re used to, and there was some morning noise from outside. The AC worked well, and the shower had plenty of hot water and warmed up fast. The small pool was clean and cozy; the hot tub was more like a jet pool. We stayed four nights, and the staff were top notch and friendly.

The staff were attentive and helpful, and the hotel’s location was excellent. Our clean, fairly spacious room had a large tub as well as a shower. One part of it had a glass ceiling but no windows, which left that area feeling dark and a bit claustrophobic. The pool was the letdown: it wasn’t well maintained, and the water only came up to our knees, so it wasn’t very practical.
