The hotel was clean, fairly priced, and in a convenient spot, though it looked more modest in person than in the online photos. I appreciated how clean it was, but some of the service was awful. Gil tried to charge me too much for the air conditioning, which I’m pretty sure they’re not allowed to charge for, and they insist on cash. He also claimed no rooms with two beds were available, even though I was willing to pay for an upgrade. I checked online and found 4 open rooms like that. He seems to take advantage of guests who don’t question him, and I suspect he’s not the only one. They charge extra for every additional towel, too. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The staff were friendly, the location was good, and the place was clean, with secure parking in the courtyard. Still, I wouldn’t return. I paid MX $850 for a double and MX $670 for a single, and expected more for those prices. I stayed two nights, moving from a larger room to a smaller one for the second night. Neither room had working hot water, so I had cold showers, and the smaller room faced the street and was noisy enough that I slept poorly.

The rooms are simple and have some character, but noise can be an issue now and then, so bring earplugs. The price is modest, and the location makes a good base for seeing the city. Staff are really friendly and helpful, the rooms are very clean, and if you’re driving, parking in the courtyard is included and free. It’s a good deal if a basic room is what you want. There are pricier places around town if you’re after luxury.
