Casa Basalto

The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and the hotel’s new design looks great. The price felt fair, but the amenities need work: I didn’t even get a bar of soap, there’s no air conditioning for hot days, and the smart TVs don’t come with paid TV providers. It was a good stay, though there’s plenty to improve.

We left feeling well rested after a lovely stay. It was quiet and very clean, with a great shower, tasteful decor, and really comfortable beds. Thanks for the good service.

We were excited to find a lovely hotel that seemed environmentally responsible, but the noise went on all night. Sound carried from upstairs and the adjoining rooms. Our neighbors eventually started complaining to reception, which we could hear too, then seemed to answer back with noise of their own. It’s past 5 a.m. and we’re still dealing with this all-nighter. Could that neat card slot that powers the room be used to cut off electricity when guests are being rude?

The rooms were quiet, clean on arrival, and cozy, and the beds were just the right size. I also liked the strong shower pressure, good drying towels, courtesy coffee, free Wi-Fi, cable TV, and the restaurant for a meal. It’s pet friendly and has parking. Security measures for COVID and guest safety were good, as were check-in and checkout times. A city-facing room gives you a view of nearby monuments, and there’s a pharmacy next door for a midnight snack or medicine. Staff understand what you need, and the A/C worked very well. Online prices are much more affordable than the local ones. My one gripe was the soap and shampoo, but, well, it’s a hotel.
