Best Western Plus Posada de Don Vasco

The hotel is fancy, and the waiters were good with good service. The restaurant food could use some improvement.

The grounds are lovely and very well maintained. Rooms on the garden side have a nice view, but they're close to the highway and noisy. Rooms facing the inside of the property are quiet. We had several rooms with family, and they were clean and adequate. There are no elevators or other accessibility options for getting to the second floor. The pool was about a meter below full when we visited, for some reason. The restaurant and bar have basic food and drinks, but the photos set expectations too high. The food was only adequate, and portions weren't as big as pictured. Honestly, though, it wasn't good enough to make us want regular-sized pancakes or sausages anyway. The so-called bowling alley is there, but it's not really functional: no pinsetter, ball return, or attendant. Could still be fun if you're feeling adventurous.

Sunday morning was really quiet here, and the service was excellent. The Mexican-style buffet had plenty of tasty options, and it was well worth it. I was a little skeptical about birria, but the birria de Res tacos were really good. The omelets and fresh juice were good and fresh, too. They should improve the pancakes and offer more spreads. There was only strawberry jam, and it wasn't the best. Definitely a must.

The hotel was very nice, and most of the employees were lovely. The restaurant wait staff took too long to check on us, though, and we had to track them down to pay. Our room was okay. The pool was cold, as they had warned us, and a tree drops debris into it. There's a 'walmart' just a two-minute walk away, handy for anything we'd forgotten. Everywhere else meant taking a taxi.
