Wabi Hostel

The location is perfect, the bed was comfortable, the rooftop was nice, and most staff were friendly, except the girl at breakfast, who was really antisocial. Breakfast was a letdown: Hostelworld’s picture showed eggs and fruit, but through our whole stay we got only frozen white bread and cheap cereal, without bowls. No eggs, no fruit. It was really bad. The place is a little run down. Our blankets had stains, half the lights in the private room didn’t work, some things were broken, and the shower drain smelled awful. It wasn’t social either, since there were no activities. I’d pay a little more to stay somewhere better.

We booked a private room with its own bathroom and had a pretty bad stay. The beds were so uncomfortable that we barely slept, and the bathroom smelled bad. The shower worked, but there was lots of mold and it felt unclean. I wouldn’t recommend this place. Personally, I’d pay an extra $10 per person to get a normal night’s sleep.

We had everything we needed for two nights in a private room with a shared bathroom, and the location was very good. Our room was clean and smelled fresh, with A/C and a small table. There was enough space for two people. The rooftop was partly covered and partly open, which was handy on very sunny days, and there was a small kitchen and fridge we could use. The shared bathroom was a little too small for my taste, but it did the job and was clean. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay, and I really appreciated their help.

Even a private room with its own bathroom had the same problems. The hostel was old and run down, with old beds and chairs, some broken chairs, a poor shower, a clogged shower head, and a handle that broke while I was using it. Breakfast was cheap toast, cheap jam and coffee. We booked and got confirmation online, but paying online wasn’t an option. At check-in, they asked for an extra 5% of the booking price unless we paid cash. That felt like a total scam and, to me, wasn’t legal.
