Milo Collection Hotel

The beds were the most comfortable we’d had on our Mexico trip, and the room was quiet once we shut the door. We couldn’t hear reception or the street outside. The hotel is a lovely old-style building with large, rustic-feeling rooms. Ours was on the ground floor, looking onto the courtyard, so we kept the curtains closed for privacy, though it wasn’t a busy area and someone looking in seemed unlikely. Staff were friendly and answered questions about the city. Cafes, restaurants, and Puebla’s sights are all within easy walking distance. It worked well as a base for a few nights.

The bathroom architecture is stunning, and the room itself was amazing, with lots of high-tech features and Alexa. The man at the counter was really nice and showed us around the hotel and rooms. We arrived a little early and paid about 15 USD for early check-in.

There were four rooms in our group, with people staying one or two nights. The rooms were beautiful and had a really distinctive feel. We also loved breakfast on the terrace, with views of the churches and a smoking volcano far off. Breakfast choices were simple, chilaquiles or scrambled eggs, with fruit and a pastry included in the room. Great stay and good value.

The location felt safe, and we could walk to everything we wanted to see in Puebla. The staff were professional and courteous, and their restaurant recommendations were right on. My fiancée and I stayed four days at the start of dia de Los muertos and had a fantastic time. There’s 24-hour door service, so coming and going was easy. I’d absolutely recommend it.
