It’s a lovely place, and the air conditioner heats and cools well. The Total play TV films are there too, and that very warm blanket is just right for cold Mexican winters. The bathroom has some problems. Water is always left on the floor after a shower, and the floor gets slippery, especially for elderly people. There’s a small, hard-to-notice black plastic round piece covering the shower drain when you arrive. Open the drain before turning on the shower, or water will run straight into the room. The shower is only 1 cm higher than the floor, so nothing keeps the water in. It took seven minutes for the shower water to warm up. In our room, the valve was on the LEFT for hot water. The towels smelled strange. The safe was too small even for a small notebook, and it was difficult to open and close.

The facilities were comfortable, and the rooms were great apart from the towels, which were in poor condition. Carlos at reception deserves a mention: he hosted us for the weekend and made us feel right at home. He was fantastic.

For the price I paid, there were too many shortcomings. The room had dirty, neglected spots, including the closet and magnifying mirror. One side of the mirror was clean, but the other was dirty with makeup smudges. There’s no restaurant on-site, so this is really just a place to sleep. At night the area feels deserted and dangerous, and it smells bad outside. They called at 7:00 a.m. on a day I planned to rest, which felt intrusive. To clarify my reply: we didn’t check out until the next day, so they could have contacted us the night before or left a note about the marathon. Waking us up was completely inconsiderate because we were exhausted. The guy was very polite, and he was right that guests should be told in advance there’s no restaurant.
