The building is beautiful and historic, but room 112 was dark and depressing. Underfloor heating pipes in one corner made it hot, while the loud A/C made it hard to sleep. There was no mini fridge for drinks and no tea or coffee making setup. We had an uncomfortable night, and the room was a real letdown for the price. We were only there one night and probably should have asked to change rooms, but I don’t know what the others are like. The service was very uneven. The staff we met were pleasant, but the arrival information was brusque, and we didn’t even know there was a spa and gym until we were leaving the next day. We ordered coffee on arrival and eventually got a dirty cup with a lipstick mark. Later we asked for tea, but there was no black, green, or mint tea, and we couldn’t pay through room service. To his credit, the waiter was very nice and brought hot water so we could use our own tea bags. At checkout nobody asked about our stay. When I raised the problems, I was told to write to a named individual. That email bounced because the address was wrong. I then wrote to the hotel’s general number, but had no reply two days later. I got the impression they didn’t really care.

The hotel looks beautiful, but the service was shockingly poor for what they charge. The nightly rate was already exorbitant, yet they charged us another 40 pesos for a second coffee pod, even though there was only one in the room for two people. I’ve traveled for years and never encountered that kind of pettiness. It’s laughable. I’d seen reviews mentioning discrimination, and after our stay those concerns felt valid. Guests who weren’t dressed as expected got unwelcoming looks and quiet, snickering giggles. It made the atmosphere uncomfortable and judgmental. The nonstop noise and chaos also made it impossible to get a proper night’s sleep. The hotel seemed more like a wedding venue than a place for paying guests. I’m relieved we stayed only one night. We’ll never return, and I strongly caution others to think twice before booking.

MIEL DE AGAVE is just steps from the entrance, and its lively atmosphere made a great addition to my evening. The hotel itself also delivered a wonderful stay. The team, from reception to housekeeping, was warm, professional, and attentive throughout, and the rooms were spotless and comfortable. Even with its age, the building is beautiful and has a lovely colonial character. I was welcomed as soon as I arrived, and the whole visit surpassed what I expected. Hotel Quinta Real Puebla deserves its five stars, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Puebla.

The courtyard bar is beautiful, and the staff there were so friendly. I got to check in as soon as I arrived, even though I was early. Had a great stay, and the cocktails were really creative.

It’s a beautiful old convent turned hotel. The only downside for us was the hot water, which never got beyond warm.
