Casa Menta

I needed reliable internet for working online, and this place had both Telmex and Starlink, so one could back up the other. The rooms were clean, the bed was really comfortable, and I could even do a DDPYoga workout here, which I hadn't found anywhere else outside the US. The owner was very friendly and took care of everything. There's a nice pool to relax by, and the beach is just a few meters away, between LA Punta and Zicatela. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook, and coffee was available for a reasonable price. You can rent scooters right at the hotel too.

The owners were so attentive and helped us out more than once. It felt like staying with friends. We spent four nights at this lovely guest house and enjoyed every bit of it. There's a nice pool, thoughtful interior details, and the ocean is just steps away. Nearby, there are ocean-view restaurants that are very inexpensive.

We rented all of Casa Menta for a month and a half and were really happy there. Gemma and Alex helped us find taxis, laundry services, tours, restaurants, massage therapists, and even nail technicians who could come to the house. They also let us leave our luggage after checkout so we could spend the weekend in Chacachua. When we asked for things like a microwave, extra hangers, tables, or clothes racks, they got them for us. They listened to feedback and clearly cared about making guests comfortable. The house is two blocks from the beach, so we caught every sunset. It's between Zicatela and La Punta, which keeps things quieter at night while leaving both areas easy to reach. Taxis are cheap and easy to get. The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean, and the new AC units worked perfectly. The wifi was good by Puerto standards, though it did cut out sometimes, so we often used our phones as hotspots. With just five rooms, the place stays quiet and feels more like having your own home than sharing a pool or hallways with a crowd. The building was only a year old when we stayed, and the rooms, beds, bathrooms, and other facilities were all in amazing shape. The owners kept everything spotless and went out of their way to make our stay good. They also offered extras you don't get at most hotels, including a full kitchen, laundry, and ice cream. It's a short walk to the beach, and there's a pool for a cool dip and a beer. If you want peace and clean, comfortable rooms near the beach, this is a good choice. Just expect to walk a bit farther or take a taxi or scooter to dinner. You can also pick up food at the market and cook at the hotel.
