Hotel Cañadas del Sureste

A really nice place.

There’s plenty of space, and the place looks lovely. The rooms are really nice and super clean.

The one problem came when we returned to our room in the afternoon on day two after checking out in the morning. It hadn’t been cleaned. I’m not sure if that was because of the promotion, but even with few rooms occupied, I think they could’ve done a quick tidy or taken out the trash. Apart from that, the deal I found was two for one, and the price, comfort, location, and service at check-in and check-out all made us think about staying here again on a future trip to San Cristóbal. The location is excellent. The rooms were clean and quiet, there was hot water, and they provided towels and blankets when we needed them. The staff made us feel right at home. 👍

We asked on Monday morning if they could keep our bags until the afternoon after we left, and they said no, claiming the hotel would be closed. The doorman offered to hold them himself for 150 pesos. I’ve never stayed anywhere else that refused to store my suitcase, and I won’t come back. The place isn’t comfortable, the rooms are small, the TVs are old, and the prices aren’t competitive.
