Hotel Casa Mictlan

The pool was clean and the staff friendly, but the hotel could use better cleaning. Our room had no towels, and when we were four guests they gave us only two. One bed was also missing pillow covers. For what you get, I thought it was overpriced.

The owners are what made this hostel priceless for me. Rodrigo, his mother, and Mario did everything they could to help when I ran into problems, and they got them sorted out. The place itself is great too, with new amenities, huge showers, dorms, a kitchen, and a fantastic rooftop for relaxing.

It looks very nice, but the price is much higher than similar places in towns around Oaxaca. Too many things also don’t work properly. At that price, the hot water should work, plain and simple.

The inner courtyard felt like a quiet little refuge in a town that can get busy, and there’s secure indoor parking. We spent just one night at Hotel hacienda "Don Cenobio" and found it comfortable and relaxing.
