That breakfast deal was a catch: the advertised “2x1” only applied if you reposted something on Instagram. What are we, teenagers? The whole place felt unfriendly, and definitely not pet-friendly. I was traveling with my mother, who has Alzheimer’s, and her small emotional-support chihuahua. I gave them the required proof, but they still demanded a document issued only by a Mexican federal bureau. That seemed very strange for a French hotel brand where, at least in France, animals are allowed at no extra cost. I booked this as a quiet stop along my route for two days. Only after booking did they email to say half the hotel was being remodeled and there would be noise. There wasn't a quiet or restful area available. There are plenty of better hotels in this city, and I'd strongly recommend avoiding this one.

Everything was great, except they kept leaving decaf instead of regular coffee ☕️.

The front desk fixed the problems the next day after I reported them, but I can't forget finding chunks of food on the sink where I'd brushed my teeth the night before. I discovered everything late at night, when it was too late to leave. I'd stayed here before and it was fine, but this visit was awful. The toilet was dirty, with a dry brown stain on the outside, the sink drain had large visible food chunks, and the bathtub drain was clogged. Showers had to be quick or my feet would be in dirty water. The shower head was at chest height, so I basically had to kneel in that water to rinse my hair. There are plenty of other options in Monterrey, and life’s too short to risk another stay like this.

Even with the language barrier, the staff worked hard to make our stay great. They used Google translate or found an English-speaking staff member so we could have a good experience. The restaurant team also helped my child choose meals he would eat.
