Boutique Pueblo Lindo

The hotel and restaurant staff were lovely, but the receptionist at check-in was rude and unpleasant. My family and I had traveled nearly 12 hours and arrived on a cold, rainy Thursday, wanting only to get to our room and take off our shoes. We were told we couldn't check in until 3 p.m. We follow the rules, but it was frustrating because I knew our room was ready, and many rooms were empty after hurricane cancellations. We were part of a wedding party that made it despite the weather, yet we waited outside, wet and cold, from 11:30 until exactly 3 to get access. The receptionist showed no consideration for what guests needed and seemed intent on asserting her authority. It left my family and me feeling unwelcome at Pueblo Lindo.

We spent two lovely nights in Taxco. Our junior suite was cute, clean, and comfortable, and they kindly arranged the view we requested. From the small balcony, the views were incredible. The pool was great, the hotel restaurant was excellent, and the service was friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was included, though we ordered extra dishes from the menu. The refrijoladas and sopes were both delicious. The hotel isn't just a few minutes from the Zocalo, and Taxco's steep hills mean you'll want sensible shoes. For the Saturday silver market, the location worked perfectly, about equally distant from the bus station and the main square and cathedral.

The views are great, and the hot tub was in use by hotel guests when we visited. We only had breakfast, which was delicious and reasonably priced. The sweet rolls were light and flavorful. Highly recommend.

The rooms are clean and the city view is amazing. Most of the staff were very friendly, and Griselda at Front Desk deserves a special mention for being so accommodating with our special requests. There isn't A/C in the rooms. You can ask the Front Desk for a fan, but outlets are very limited, about one per room, so you may or may not have somewhere to plug it in.
