Posada Colibrí

The staff and restaurant were five star, friendly, kind, and attentive. The hotel is about 6-7 minutes by car from the Pyramids. It's cute and cozy, with a nice pool and garden areas, and a good-sized bed. The bathroom needs work. The shower head was clogged, there was nowhere to hang a towel or put toilet paper, and they didn't have a hair dryer, not even at the front desk. Cleanliness could be better too. There's room for improvement, but our guide also told us it was one of the better places to stay around here.

We got in late, and the restaurant was already closing at 6:00, so dinner there wasn't an option. Luckily, there are taco spots not far away. The reception staff were kind and helped us get a fire going in the fireplace, so we ate our tacos with some wine that night. The place still looked nice in the rain, though our room got muddy since there was nowhere to clean our shoes before coming in. The room itself was basic, but the beds were comfortable. There's no heating, so be ready for the cold if you visit in winter. It would also be nice to have coffee and tea facilities in the room.

The mariachi music from a nearby venue was so loud it made the room vibrate, and sleeping was impossible. It was still going at 130am, so we left to find somewhere else we could get some sleep.

The host was really friendly and welcoming, and the grounds are lovely. The bed was comfortable too, though the room cleaning was only average: the trash wasn't emptied and there was no toilet paper. The shower wasn't great, and hot water took a while. Wi-Fi in the room was poor, and breakfast was very average. They seem to be trying hard, and with a few changes this could be a great place to relax.
