Hotel Maria Bonita

For a one-night stop, this worked well for me. The room was spacious, had a king bed, and the AC worked great. I had Wi-Fi in my room, probably because it was close to reception. They lock the gates after 10 p.m. when the receptionist leaves, and I felt safe there. The hotel rooms and reception are upstairs above a pharmacy. Daniella and Marisol, who work at reception and housekeeping, were friendly and did everything they could to make my stay a good one. The older building showed in the bathroom, which was dated and had peeling paint, but it was mostly clean. I had plenty of hot water and good pressure for showers that evening and the next morning, and the towels weren't all rough like they are in some hotels. My corner room did get a lot of street noise starting around 5 a.m., from cars and tourist buses passing through town. Aside from that, the location was handy: two blocks from sightseeing spots and good restaurants, including Hotel California, and four blocks downhill to the bus stop for my shuttle to San Jose Del Cabo airport. The price was reasonable too. There were several American and Canadian tourists staying there that night, and everyone was pleasant.
