Hotel Club Akumal Caribe

Our Airbnb fell through at the last minute, so we wound up staying here for three nights. The staff were so warm and friendly, and let us look at the room options before we decided. Everything was clean, and they provided towels for the beach and pool. There were loungers and umbrellas at both the beach and the pool. It was quiet and peaceful, right by the beach and about five minutes from Akumal’s restaurants. The location couldn’t have suited us better. We wished we’d booked here from the start instead of losing time on the Airbnb. A wonderful stay, thank you!

Sitting beneath the palapa and taking in the ocean is hard to beat, and the pool has a great view as well. I’ve been coming here for over 18 years, and I still feel just as excited when I arrive and just as sad when it’s time to go. It’s such a beautiful place to experience, with a peaceful atmosphere instead of an overpriced tourist resort.

Even during a very crowded holiday, the location was beautiful and the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. The food was great, and both the rooms and beach were clean. There were lovely tucked-away spots in the garden. The rooms felt a little worn and humid, but they were exceptionally clean. Having your own drinking water station also helps cut down on plastic bottles.

We went to get drinks and snacks at the restaurant in the evening and hoped to access the beach too. The two doormen said we had to spend at least 800 pesos or they wouldn’t let us in, even though it’s a public beach. We never even got to see a menu, so we went elsewhere to eat.
