Corazon de Tulum

For $30 a night in the centre of a tourist town, I think people should adjust their expectations. Those who don't like it can always book a Hilton. We stayed one night, and the hotel was clean and in a perfect location.

My friend was staying here, which is why I went in. When I asked the price for a room, they quoted 900. My friend came down and said she'd paid 600, so I asked why they were trying to charge me 50% more. They changed the offer to 700, and after I asked why I should pay 100 extra, they agreed to 600. The hotel across the street posts its rates, always charges 600, and has better internet. Check-in took ten minutes, and staff took photos of my passport with their phone, even though that's not required by law. This place is unprofessional and bureaucratic. Avoid if you can.

We stayed one night on Friday, May 20, 2023. The room was clean, and though it was small for $55, we couldn't complain. I slept well. It was very noisy in the morning, but otherwise it wasn't too bad.

The central location is handy, near restaurants and the ADO bus station. The receptionists were very kind and gave us good directions to the ruins. There were some problems with the room: the towels were stained, though we weren't charged for them since they were already stained, the air conditioning leaked into the room, and it was quite humid with a bit of visible mold.
