For 600 pesos, the nice entrance made this last-minute room on the main avenue seem promising. The A/C wasn’t working, though they did tell me before check-in. The bathrooms were dirty and damp, the floors were dirty, and there was a stain on the sheets. The worst part was how unsafe and uncomfortable I felt. Music from next door blared until 4 a.m., so I barely slept. The man checking me in made a sexual innuendo toward me, another man. It felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. He tried again before stepping away, so I ignored him and changed the subject. At 3 a.m. someone knocked on my door. I didn’t open it, but I suspect it was the same worker. I’m a grown man and still didn’t feel safe there. Awful experience.

This is an affordable, relaxed place on Tulum’s main strip, and the staff are really friendly. Breakfast is included, simple but decent, with bread, jam, and fruit. The shower was hard to adjust, with weak pressure and water that swung between scalding and cold. At night the bar next door plays pounding music. Earplugs barely help, though it does always stop at 2:00am.

The host put together a superb breakfast for us, and the staff were warm and helpful throughout. The rooms are part of a wooden village house and comfortable enough. It’s a very relaxing place, though music from the bars and pubs outside carries on until around 1:30-2:00am.

I loved relaxing in the garden hammock, and our clean room was just right. We slept peacefully, and it had a smart TV too. The hospitality was amazing, and the free breakfast was delicious. Five stars for a beautiful stay!
