We stumbled across this place while walking, loved the beach and the soft, comfortable beach beds, and enjoyed the service enough to come back and stay. The drinks, staff, beach, service, and atmosphere were all highlights, and the price was great. Food was the one letdown, so this is four stars from me. There are better options about a three-minute walk down the street. Apart from that, I’d absolutely stay again.

The restaurant was the standout for me during our February stay at Punta Piedra Beach Posada. The food was fresh and full of flavor, and the staff were kind, quick, and attentive. We could order food and drinks right on the sand, with the waves in the background. Try the lobster if you visit, it was perfect. Our room was comfortable and simply furnished, with air conditioning that made for a restful night. And the ocean views were breathtaking, some of the best I’ve seen. Punta Piedra Beach Posada exceeded my expectations as a relaxing beachfront place with great service and food. I can’t wait to return.

We’d happily stay here again. It’s a nice small hotel in northern Tulum, with a lovely ocean view from our room and a comfortable bed. The food was terrific, with lots of choices; we especially liked the grilled mushrooms with Cheese and the fish tacos. Gabriel at reception was attentive to our request, and the staff were welcoming and went out of their way to help. The only hiccup was that a power outage left us without hot water on our last day.

It’s a great spot for unwinding, with small restaurants nearby and a beautiful ocean view from the breakfast area. Breakfast is a nice little free bonus, and everyone was friendly. The hotel feels authentic and cute, with rustic decor, a private beach, and plenty of places to lounge. We’d stayed farther down the beach before and wondered if this would be one of those ‘instagrammy’ places, but it wasn’t. We’d definitely come back.

The rooms are very clean, and they provide free water, tea bags, and soluble coffee. You can walk to nearby restaurants, cafés, and shops from this good location, and the beach is nice. Still, I don’t think the place deserves a three-star rating: the rooms are basic, breakfast is poor and comes in small portions, and the Wi-Fi is really slow. The bathroom door never worked, and a few more electrical outlets would help.
