We’re seniors, and we were told the pet-friendly rooms were only on the second floor, though that same day people came out with dogs from first-floor rooms. We only got two towels for two people. The beds and rooms are old, with paint peeling off. You can’t get coffee before 7:30 am, so don’t bother trying at 7:25.

The pool and the area around it were beautiful, peaceful, and clean. Parking was spacious, with one entrance and exit, and I felt safe there. Check-in went smoothly, and the front desk person was friendly and professional. The rest of the staff were professional but seemed indifferent and sad. I didn’t expect them to be happy, but seeing them that way felt depressing. When I had trouble with the TV remote, a courteous staff member came to help. The room was spacious, basic, and clean. It had one hand towel, two bath towels, a floor towel, two shampoos, no conditioner, two waters, and two small soaps. The tiles, sink, shower, toilet, counters, furniture, and towels were clean, though the shower tiles could use more scrubbing, so wear sandals. Lighting was average. The comforter was thin, the pillows were comfortable and puffy, the blinds blocked the light well, and the mini-split AC cooled the room nicely. The mattress was extremely hard. The door locks, but a hard kick could open it, and the inside safety chain is flimsy. There’s also a thin connecting door to the next room, with a lock that doesn’t feel very secure or private. You can hear the neighbors. There’s no TV channel guide, so ask what channels are available. The hotel is about two blocks, or a 10-minute walk along a good sidewalk, from Tuxpan’s main bus station, which helps if you’re pulling luggage. I found a taxi by the street in the evening without trouble. During early morning rush hour, the hotel called one for me but none came. I walked to the station after waiting around 20 minutes by the street, with every taxi already taken. Keep that in mind if you’re in a hurry. The restaurant is clean but plain, with no wall decor. The food was a little pricey, didn’t look too appetizing, and tasted okay but nothing special. The lemonade was delicious. Breakfast is included, though I missed it because I checked out early. There aren’t restaurants or shops right nearby, so you’ll have to walk some distance or take a taxi. The nightly rate is reasonable and similar to downtown hotels. I’d consider staying again if I could make use of the free breakfast and pool next time. I didn’t bring my swimsuit. The fenced hotel feels secure. It’s a good setup for families with several vehicles, since you can park alongside each other and there’s room for kids to run around and adults to sit, relax, and have a drink. Without a vehicle, downtown hotels cost about the same, with more taxis and more things to do and places to eat nearby.

The room was clean, breakfast tasty, the staff nice, and the price absolutely affordable. They have facilities for dogs too. It was a wonderful stay, and I can’t imagine expecting more from a hotel.

The rooms are clean and it’s really comfortable, with a big pool. The restaurant wasn’t my favorite part.

A nice spot for a weekend, with roomy rooms, good internet, and attentive service. There aren’t any luxuries.
