We’d booked the most expensive room, which made the problems sting more. The garden was beautiful and the location was good, but the cabaña was full of mosquitoes when we checked in. The bed net was open on all four sides and impossible to keep sealed, so being in a cabaña wasn’t much fun. The glasses and water jar were extremely dirty and smelled terrible. WiFi wouldn’t connect, and the tub was useless: hot water only filled it about two centimeters before turning cold. The blinds left wide gaps where anyone outside could see in.

The AC worked fine, breakfast was basic but okay, and the location was good, not too far from the city center. It’s a charming hotel with basic services, and the tiny plunge pool needed cleaning. Decent overall, and better upkeep could earn it another star.

The room had two rocking chairs, which was all we needed to hear! It was large, the beds were comfortable, and there was a lovely garden. We expected less traffic outside, but our room faced away from the street and was very quiet. The AC kept the room comfortable for sleeping without blowing straight at us. The location is wonderful, close to the convent and the nightly light show when it isn’t raining. Breakfast could have had more yogurt, though. One bowl for two people wasn’t enough.

We only stayed one night, but it was fantastic. The staff were friendly and attentive, the courtyard was gorgeous, and breakfast was really yummy. There’s a hammock in the room too, so amazing. The hotel is at the end of a street with lots of nice restaurants.
