Hotel Peregrina

The rooms were very clean and comfortable, though the furniture was a bit sparse. We got a nice little surprise when they upgraded us at check-in. The concierge was extremely helpful and kind, and gave us dinner recommendations. There were also a few convenience stores nearby, along with some great breakfast cafes and restaurants. My only complaint is that once I couldn’t park in the hotel lot. I parked on the street right in front instead, and that worked out fine. All in all, it was a great stay!

The room was very spacious and reasonably priced, and it was clean. It’s about a 10-minute walk into town. I didn’t realize before booking that the hotel is on a major road leading to the city center, and the traffic noise was sometimes a problem. The Wi-Fi was poor, and the toilet seat was broken. We asked twice to have it fixed, but it still wasn’t repaired. Choose your room carefully.

The location worked well for us, with groceries, restaurants, and the town square all within a kilometer. Our room was enormous, honestly big enough for a football team, with two king beds, a couch, desk, small table, and tiny balcony. It was 850 pesos for two people. Staff were friendly, and there’s a pool and secure parking. The garage gate sat right below our room, though, so we heard it every time it opened or shut. Street noise was minimal. The room was clean, the hot water decent, and the Wi-Fi barely reached us. The A/C was weak too. We ran it at 16°C all day and it still struggled during the hottest part of the day.

The courtyard was a lovely shaded spot, even on a hot day, thanks to its tall walls. The landscaping felt relaxing despite the bold colors, and the pool looked like a nice way to cool down, though we didn’t get time to swim. There’s free coffee at reception in the morning, and one rainy night the receptionist kindly offered us an umbrella. We stayed two nights that weren’t back to back. Both the bedrooms and shared areas were clean and tidy, and the rooms were spacious. The pillows and mattress were comfortable, and the mini fridge was handy for water. On our second stay we had a ground floor room, where the shower pressure was fantastic, the best we’ve had in Mexico. I’d recommend the place for that alone. The hotel is about a seven minute walk from parque principal and the ADO bus station, with restaurants nearby. I’d read comments about the Wi-Fi, but it worked fine for searching and watching YouTube. I’d happily stay again next time I’m in Valladolid.
