OYO Hotel Rubi

Cozy enough, but the quality was very low.

It’s a good budget choice, close to the market, and there’s a small parking lot behind the hotel. This is really just a place to sleep, with one bathroom and a few TV channels. Some rooms have AC and others only fans. There’s no pool, and the water is cold. Hot water wasn’t available, though I didn’t find that necessary. I stayed here over New Year’s in Zihuatanejo, a small town, and the lady and her children gave very good service. They tried to help with everything. The sports fields are about an 18-minute walk away. The rooms are worn with age, and a little fixing up would make them excellent. Hooks and a small table would also be useful.

A horrible place. They never gave me a key and kept making me come in with a knife. The AC didn’t work, and they never fixed it. There was a missing lightbulb in the room and no one offered to help. They even made faces at me.

The manager acts like a drill sergeant, and the place is filthy and neglected. There were cockroaches, dust everywhere, and a dirty, smelly bathroom. It needs maintenance. Such a shame, because both the property and the area have so much potential.
