Ho Hotel by OYO Rooms

The staff were impolite and completely lost patience, and the service was very bad. Our room was in terrible shape too: no Wi-Fi or TV, a broken toilet door, and a leaking shower. I'm really unhappy with what the hotel provided.

We've stayed in budget hotels many times, but this was the dirtiest, most rundown one we've experienced. We booked two rooms for two nights. One room's water heater didn't work, which we could manage by using the other room's hot shower, but nobody told us neither toilet could flush. They left buckets for manual flushing, and we had to ask for toilet paper. The sheets and duvet covers were yellow and dirty. When we requested fresh ones, housekeeping insisted the stains were old and stubborn and that the sheets were clean. In one room the air conditioning barely worked after hours on the lowest temperature and highest fan setting, leaving it hot and stuffy. I couldn't sleep because of the faulty aircon and how uncomfortable and unclean the bed, mattress, and pillow felt. Basic amenities are one thing, but cleanliness shouldn't be compromised. A waste of money. Avoid this hotel.

After we changed rooms because one toilet smelled terrible and wouldn't flush, we realized we'd left a pair of slippers in the first room. I contacted reception right away and asked them to hold them for us to collect in the morning, but they said the maid had already cleared the room and they couldn't find them. The Indonesian maid was rude and disrespectful. We had booked two rooms for two nights, but at check-in we were told they weren't in the main building shown on the website. Instead they were behind another sketchy building with no one there, not even hotel staff. We were worried about safety and security, but it was nearly night and we were exhausted from travelling. The toilet in one room had poop in it and couldn't flush, so we urgently asked to change rooms.

I paid for a room through OYO, but the booking stayed on hold. OYO's automated customer service said the payment hadn't met the RM60 minimum, even though I'd paid. They sent a payment link that wouldn't work, and Google also blocked it for not meeting its restricted requirements. With no other option, I went to the hotel, explained that my booking was in the OYO system, paid a deposit, and checked in. Then the receptionist came to my room and said they couldn't press the “check in” button in OYO. I saw it was stuck, so I had to pay the hotel directly as well. The booking still didn't appear in the app. I used Help to cancel the on-hold payment booking, and it suddenly showed as cancelled, with no refund and no communication. The worst experience. Not recommended at all, not even one star, but negative stars.
