Amansari Hotel Desaru

The staff were friendly and awesome throughout, and the service was top-notch. Breakfast was great, and the rooms were kept clean and nice every day. There are lots of food places nearby, so finding dinner was easy. Amansari is great value for people on a tight budget, though it’s also good if budget isn’t an issue. Don’t expect much from the facilities, but the hotel exceeded my expectations. I didn’t catch the staff members’ names, but every single one was great. I’d book again.

I booked two deluxe rooms through Booking.com, where I usually book my stays. The description said both rooms could interconnect, but at check-in staff said they couldn’t. I was okay with that, and also with getting no reply when I contacted the property. The room I got had an AC problem, so I called service. A friendly man, who I assume was the manager, came and moved us to another room. The staff were friendly and nice, which is why I gave the hotel 3 stars rather than the 1 I was considering, since it’s a 3-star hotel. The replacement room smelled heavily perfumed, which seemed odd and made me wonder if it had been left uncleaned and they’d just sprayed it because they had no other option. It was missing items that had been in the first room: soap, towels, and a hairdryer. The room phone wasn’t connected and didn’t ring, so I had to get my brother in the other room to call the lobby. We waited about two hours just to get towels. After dinner we asked again for the missing hairdryer and soap, and waited another two hours. During our two-night stay, my sister and I both got rashes all over our legs, and we think bed bugs in the room may have caused them. The ventilation was very poor, and on the first night we smelled cigarette smoke coming from the bathroom. Both nights there was loud water dripping above the bathroom ceiling, enough to make me feel like it could collapse. The hose pipe was broken and leaked more as we used it, eventually getting water on our pants. I’m not sure why they gave us one poorly maintained room to replace another. It felt like a lack of procedure and maintenance. Please maintain the rooms and improve the service, not just the hospitality.

The food was good, with a satisfying range of choices, and breakfast was enjoyable and well prepared. Waiter Firzan was polite, attentive, and very helpful, which made dining better. My room at Amansari Hotel was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, just what I needed to relax after a long day. It met my expectations, and I’d consider coming back.

The room was great and the air conditioning worked superbly. Staff gave us a warm welcome and good service, and breakfast was peaceful and enjoyable. Faizan at the breakfast counter greeted and guided us so nicely, a small gesture that meant a lot. The toilet needs some basic water flow: water couldn’t drain properly from the shower outlet and was still pooled below the basin the next morning. Thanks for the service.
