Bahari Parade Hotel Managed By The Ascott Limited

We had a comfortable, peaceful two-night stay at Hotel Bahari Parade by PHC, with dining options, massage parlors, and Durian Planet nearby for anyone who loves durian. The second-floor unit had two bedrooms, three beds, one bathroom, and a cozy living room with a sofa. It could suit up to six people. Check-in was smooth at Hutton Central Hotel by PHC, about a 10-minute walk (approximately 300 meters) away. We’d seen Google reviews mentioning noise from a nearby bar and worried about it, but didn’t hear anything during our stay, possibly because it was closed. It made a convenient, comfortable base for exploring the area, and we’d recommend it for a Penang visit.

The room was okay, but ours at the front faced the road and the restaurant opposite played loud karaoke music until late at night. Check-in was a terrible experience. We had to go to another “sister hotel,” where the process took ages because of problems with the credit card machine. Then we had to carry our own luggage for a 5 min walk to the actual location. We were lucky ours was light. I can’t imagine doing that with heavy bags and kids.

The room looked modern and had plenty of space, so I gave it 2 stars for the effort. At night it was extremely noisy from karaoke across the street. Cleaning wasn’t great either, and workers drove around openly on motors to deliver towels, sheets or whatever. Finding parking at peak hours was absolutely impossible.

Getting to the room means taking the stairs, so I wouldn’t advise this place for people with disabilities or elderly guests. The front desk is in a different building, and parking is an issue. If you’re lucky there’ll be a space in front; otherwise be ready to walk and carry your luggage up the stairs. It’s high-end budget accommodation because it’s in Georgetown, the UNESCO world heritage site.
