The location is good, and the guy at the front desk seems nice. Breakfast only starts at 8, though, and Wi-Fi is available only in the main lobby. The bathroom is reasonably clean but missing basics like hand soap. You have to remove your shoes to reach the room, then use the shared flip-flops for the bathroom, which always seem wet. I changed rooms because the first bed's springs were so uncomfortable. The second room was mediocre and still uncomfortable. Looking at the photos again, they're realistic, but I had a better impression of the place when booking than I did in person. It's a budget room for a budget price. I'd give it 1.5 stars if I could.

The lobby feels really cosy, and the staff are very friendly. You get free Wi-Fi and toast in the morning, and the location is good. It can get a bit noisy, but staff are happy to move you to another room if you ask. A fantastic budget hostel.

The owner was easy to talk to and very helpful with suggestions for things to do in Penang. The location is handy too, with food stalls within walking distance and a nasi kandar shop nearby that stays open 24 hours. It's a great option if you're on a tight budget. The air conditioning was leaking, but aside from that it was a perfect place for solo or young travellers.

The staff were friendly, but the room facing the street was very noisy. The shared toilets were always wet and dirty, and the bed and pillow weren't comfortable. It looks great in the pictures, but I don't think it's worth the price.

For a cheap hotel, I think it's worth it. They gave me a double bed even though I'd booked a single, and I could leave my luggage for free after checkout while I walked around the city. The towel was soapy, so I didn't use it. Several toilets were broken, though some were okay.
