It's a business motel or lodge, ideal for a short 1-2 night stay if you're not too fussy. I love having parking right out front.

The location is conveniently close to two shopping centers, which was the one pleasant part of my stay. I've stayed here many times, but the facilities keep getting worse and need an upgrade. In Room 208, the toilet wouldn't stop flushing and the adapter was unusable. The air conditioning in Room 210 wasn't cold, and monkeys outside the balcony were trying to open the door.

The reception staff were very friendly, and the room was clean. It's a bit jammed around the location because it's on Gurney Drive.

The owner seems to put a lot of effort into maintaining this mansion. It's very close to Gurney plaza and the Gurney drive hawker stall, both within walking distance. We had a nice, simple stay in a King sized room with two adults and one young toddler, and this is the cleanest, most hygienic place I've stayed so far. The air conditioning was cold, the water heater was hot with strong pressure, the hair dryer worked, and there was a refrigerator and safe keep in the room. Good work, and we'll definitely stay again if we're in Penang.

The service was great. We asked for a couple of extras, a pillow and help printing some documents, and the staff were very kind. The rooms are excellent, and it's an easy 15 minutes from George Town city center. It's between a nice shopping mall and a great street food market, which is really convenient. I'd definitely recommend it if you want a quiet place close to the city center.
