The central George Town location made it easy to reach most of Penang’s major attractions and activities on foot. The staff were polite and accommodating, and did their best within the hotel’s limits. There are ironing boards in the common areas, and the shower was one of the room’s better features. Breakfast choices were limited but reasonable, and the food was good for the price. The room itself was very small for a 3-star hotel, with stained bedsheets, no closet or luggage rack, and only two hangers. There was nowhere to put our suitcases. The bidet was faulty when we checked in. We told reception and specifically asked them not to enter while we were away, but they repaired it in our absence, which felt uncomfortable and disrespectful of our privacy. There was no room service or housekeeping after 10 PM, so late arrivals have to make do with what’s already in the room. We also didn’t have a tissue box. The hand wash, shampoo, and body wash came in tiny bottles that were awkward to use, especially the hand wash. The toiletries were poor quality and left our hands extremely dry. The location is the main reason to stay here. Room size, cleanliness, amenities, and limited services fell short even for a 3-star stay. It may suit you if location is your top priority and you keep expectations low.

We spent 2 nights here and had a great stay, with nothing to complain about. The room was spacious enough for two adults, though we only had backpacks. Suitcases might make it feel quite tight. Check-in and checkout were smooth, and the location was perfect, with all the Georgetown hot spots nearby and easy to reach on foot. I’d happily come back.

Breakfast was included in our booking, with cereals, bread and toast, noodles, fried rice, soup, fruit, cakes, traditional kuih snacks, milk, juice, and coffee. Eggs were freshly made in different styles. Parking was free in the basement, which is monitored by cameras, but the corners are very sharp, so take care if you have a big car. Our room had a smart television and free Wi-Fi with Netflix, YouTube, Disney+ and a few other services. It was clean and calm, though there was no soundproofing and noise disturbed us a little. The shower heating was unreliable: it got hot for a few minutes, then stopped. That wasn’t a big issue for us, but if you’re staying more than two days, you could ask to move rooms. The mosque right beside the hotel may wake you early. It’s currently under renovation. Check-in was a little late, but management let us check out late. We booked a month ahead on Trip.com at a good price, and paid an extra RM2 Heritage Fee or Local Government Fee (LFG), which was fine with us since the municipal are doing a very good job maintaining and preserving the town’s heritage. The hotel is in a touristy area with everything within walking distance. If we come back to Georgetown, I’d stay here again.

The room was comfortable and clean, if a little small as expected. The air-conditioning was cold and the hot shower worked well. Mine was right opposite the lift, so I heard some noise when people passed by. There’s an iron and ironing board in the corridor, plus a 24-hour convenience store directly across from the hotel. A mosque and a 24-hour self-service laundry are on the hotel’s left. Check-in was easy, and the receptionist was friendly. I stayed 2 nights in the Buttermilk Room (King Bed) at Loop On Leith. They required a RM2 tourism tax at check-in, which was fine. Pleasant stay and good value for a short trip in Georgetown.

The air-conditioning was cold, and the room size was just okay. The mirror area in the bathroom could use more light. No deposit was needed. It’s a decent choice for a short stay, though sound carries, so you can hear people walking around and shutting doors.
