The rooms were decent, the aircon worked great, and the beds were a little hard but fine. The shower splashed too much water onto the floor, and the fridge didn’t work. Sleep was the big problem. There’s a mosque across the street, loud at 6 am, and music and singing from the nearby mall runs from 9pm to 12:30am every night. That leaves at most 5 1/2 hours for sleep. In the street-facing bedroom, loud cars and motorbikes also go by all night. We were told the mall singing would happen for just 3 nights, but it continued all 5 nights we stayed. Maybe call ahead to check what’s planned for your dates. I can’t recommend this place if you want to sleep while in Georgetown.

Danial was especially helpful and made everything go smoothly, and the room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a pleasant living area and small kitchenette. Ropewalk Piazza Hotel is right in the middle of George Town, near cafés, food spots and lots of attractions. Getting to the room means climbing a steep staircase with no lift. The hotel is also close to a mosque, so morning prayer can be loud and may be hard for light sleepers. Still, I had a really good stay and would come back.

The room was comfortable and the place was nice. Staff were kind and helpful, though they weren’t always around during their stated opening hours. If you need assistance, call the operator first to check someone is there.

We had a pleasant stay, with food places and attractions an easy walk away. The accommodation was clean and looked after, and the staff were very nice. There were useful amenities, including forks, spoons and a microwave. There can be a lot of noise at night in the nearby area, though it stops after midnight. When we left, nobody was at reception, so leaving our luggage was awkward and we had to wait a while. For the price, it was a very good place to stay.
