Savv Hotel

The pool is small and shallow, but the rooms are quiet, with good air conditioning and Wi-Fi. You can have them cleaned daily if you want. Breakfast mixes continental and Malay food, and May, the Malay woman, is so helpful and brings happiness each morning. The staff are lively and helpful. The location is perfect, just a 3-5 minute walk to the free CAT bus into town, the main bus station and the Strait ferry. We highly recommend this hotel.

We had a pleasant stay and would come back on our next Penang trip. There are lots of places to explore nearby, and the staff suggested a few spots in the area. They were accommodating and greeted us with a smile. We got an upgrade to a water-view room, which we loved because we could watch the sunrise without leaving the room. The main road made the first night a little noisy, though it bothered me less on the second night. The room was generous in size and clean. When I reported that the coffee machine wasn't working, staff replaced it straight away.

Angel from the SAVV Hotel team tracked me down through WhatsApp using my mobile number after we left cash in the locked room safe in our hurry to leave. She notified me as soon as she found it, and I later got the money back. Such great service, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout. My wife and I stayed three nights, 20-22 Dec 2025, and really enjoyed it. From the hotel we could walk to the jetties and Armenian Street to see street art and try the food. Our room looked over the waterfront, with sunset views, and I took lovely sunrise photos through a corridor window. Breakfast was served in a covered BBQ area by the swimming pool in the private backyard. We ate there twice and preferred it to a streetside breakfast spot. When we left Georgetown, my relatives checked in at a nearby 5-star hotel, and I got to see one of its rooms. My wife and I thought our room at SAVV Hotel was more spacious and comfortable. I’m not claiming SAVV is at a 5-star standard, but its room was large and comfortable, and we felt we’d made a smart choice after considering that other hotel. There’s no doubt we’ll stay at SAVV Hotel on our next visit to Georgetown.

The room was on the top, sixth floor, with a nice sea view. The heat could build up there, especially after being outdoors, but the hotel provided an extra standing fan, which helped. The reception staff were friendly and gave us an early check-in when we arrived before the official time. We appreciated their help, and housekeeping was prompt. The security guard on duty was reassuring, and the basic facilities were reasonable. We checked in on Thursday. The first two nights were peaceful, and we rested well after long days out in town. Saturday was a different story. A pub right beside the hotel had very loud live music on speakers, which continued past 11:30 pm and kept us from resting. Groups of motorcyclists also rode back and forth in the evening, making loud engine noise. That seemed to happen on the weekend too. Our three-night stay was mostly okay, but the music and traffic noise made the last night difficult.
