Summer Terrace - Hostel

The top bunk is nearly 2 m up, and the hot showers didn't always work. Wi-Fi was patchy too. Still, I stayed three days and extended for another three. The facilities were clean, the air conditioning was good, and I never had to wait for a shower. Motorbike rentals and plenty of cafes and restaurants are nearby. You're only 100 m from the Lebuh Chulia and Love Lane intersection, right in the backpacker area. Bus 101 stops there and goes to Gurney Plaza and Batu Ferringhi.

Half the showers were cold because the heaters weren't working. I wouldn't stay here if you need a good night's sleep: the rooms have no soundproofing, and loud music and drunk people yelling carried on until at least 3 am on both nights I was there. It's on a party street.

The room was nice and clean, and the staff were kind and welcoming. It's a convenient place to stay, especially if you enjoy bars, since the street is full of them.

The hotel is good value, but I’m too old for club music going until 4 am. With all the bars nearby, this street is too noisy if you want to sleep well.
