This was our first stay at Meru valley gcc and suites, after staying in Ipoh city many times. We had a spacious, cozy, contemporary one-bedroom suite that was neat, and the WiFi was more than decent. The green surroundings were quiet, calm, and relaxing. It's over 20 minutes to the city centre, and convenience stores aren't within walking distance, so having a car or using Grab is better. There are modern facilities nearby, including a restaurant, launderette, gym, and two pools. We used them all, but skipped the 18hole golf course and club restaurant. The view there was great and the food looked good, but we drove out for cheaper meals. The club staff were all helpful and hospitable, from the informative front desk lady to the pool staff and courteous guards who kept the place safe 24 hours. As others have mentioned, the keycard scanner at the security post doesn't work well about half the time and could use improvement. It's a peaceful break from city bustle, and we hope to return soon.

I really enjoyed the golf course, and Meru Suites / Meru Valley GCC is a good option for golfers who enjoy food too. It offers a workable in-resort holiday or work event for travelers and golfers, alongside Ipoh's traditional food options rather than trying to replace them. The dining and golf packages are excellent and tailored.

The staff were extremely pleasant, and the apartments were roomy, comfortable, clean, and well maintained. I only found the breakfast buffet disappointing, since it was really just a random selection of a la carte dishes to choose from. I have no other complaints about the accommodation and might stay here next time I'm in Ipoh.

We booked at the last minute while travelling and found a lovely, peaceful resort outside Ipoh, about 10 minutes from the centre by taxi. It's mainly a golf resort, with many parts occupied by owners and some units available to rent. Our main complex was secure and very quiet, and the reception staff were lovely and helpful. The room was spacious and had a kitchenette. There were free laundry facilities on site, good WiFi, a nice shower room, and the cleaning was very good. We also had a balcony overlooking the course, plus a small cafe, a restaurant, and a nice pool. We don't play golf, so I can't comment on the course.
