Homestay Atfa Beseri Kangar Perlis

The house has loads of space and feels comfortable, and the owner is kind, helpful, and nice. A few things need attention to make the stay better for guests and help the homestay business improve. When we checked in, the carpet smelled musty, as if it hadn't been vacuumed or cleaned regularly. There were lots of mosquitoes in the living room, so mosquito spray would be useful. The kitchen also had many cockroaches, which gave the impression it wasn't cleaned often. The bedding needs attention too. The sheets, blankets, bedspreads, and pillowcases seemed to have mites, and lying down made us itchy. After a guest checks out, the homestay needs proper servicing, especially fresh pillowcases and sheets. Two toilets were hard to flush, and it happened repeatedly. The main bathroom sink was nearly falling off, which felt dangerous. The bathroom tiles are lovely and white, but they've turned yellowish and have black spots, as if the bathroom isn't cleaned regularly. They could be scrubbed with Mr Muscle/Kuat Harimau/Badang Soap/Clorox. I'm used to cleaning bathrooms, so I noticed.

The rooms and air conditioning were all fine, and everything else was tip top. The kitchen could use a wok and a stone mortar. The water containers there were very small, so a larger one would be better for all the room occupants to drink from. We left a few things behind as charity for whoever comes next. The toilet water pressure was a bit low, making it somewhat hard to flush, and the back bathroom had a small leak.

Being near Tasik Melati, shops, and the mosque was a plus for me. But a homestay really has to be CLEAN, and this one wasn't tidy. There were bits of other people's leftovers and hair scattered across all the toilet seats. The table was dusty and hadn't been wiped. The toilets were yellow, with marks on the walls, and I ended up cleaning one because I couldn't stand it. Outside was cluttered too, with old chairs and water hoses. Take a look around. Please get someone in to clean every so often. The homestay fee isn't especially cheap, so it should of course be CLEAN.

The house and room are very large, and the AC and toilet with a water heater were there. But the kitchen had only a refrigerator, with no spoon, cup, bowl, or kettle, despite the ad saying everything was complete. I had a small child with me and had to go to nearby eateries to ask for hot water to make baby milk. These are basic homestay needs. I WhatsApped after checking in to ask about the missing kettle. They only replied after I messaged that we were checking out the next day, supposedly after seeing my earlier message. Hahahha, excuse. Please be honest in the advertisement. People choose the place because of what you say it offers, and I felt cheated. Sorry, this was my first and last stay here. Blessings come from honesty.
