The common areas had a warm, welcoming feel, and it was easy to meet other travelers. The location was perfect for public transport, local attractions, and good food spots. I liked the little touches, like free morning coffee and helpful travel tips. The staff and the cute cat were incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived. The staff kept going out of their way to make me comfortable. My room was clean, cozy, and well kept, with a comfortable bed and fresh linens. I had an amazing stay at this hostel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly, affordable, memorable experience. I can't wait to come back!

What made the stay stand out was the friendly, helpful staff. They made check-in easy and shared good tips on things to do around the city and getting to the islands. The common area was pleasant for relaxing and meeting other travelers, and still quiet enough at night for a good sleep. H2 Backpackers is right in the heart of Kota Kinabalu, close to markets, food stalls, and public transport. My pod was clean and comfortable, with a privacy curtain, personal light, and locker for valuables. The shared bathrooms were well maintained, and the Wi-Fi stayed strong throughout my stay. I'd highly recommend it for solo travelers or anyone looking for a budget-friendly, comfortable place in KK. I had a great stay and will definitely come back. 💗💗🥰

The balcony was lovely, with a view of the busy durian night market and lively crowds. The cat was lovely too, and the staff were nice. The walls are thin, but the room was clean enough and fine for a short stay. The location is convenient for getting around, and the price is reasonable. Booking through their website would be even cheaper.

This is the best hostel ever, 10/10, and I'd happily get meowed at again. I came for the bed but stayed for the cat, who runs the show and works as a furry receptionist accepting payment in head scratches. The staff are lovely humans too. The place is super clean and super friendly. 🐱✨
