Hotel Ambassador Bukit Bintang

The front desk treated me well, but the rest of the service was poor. I carried my luggage from the road to the lobby and then up to my third-floor room because there was no porter. I stayed five nights, and the bathroom had no soap, shampoo, or toothbrush. Housekeeping didn't come unless I asked for cleaning each day. I paid for breakfast, but the quality was so low that neither my wife nor I could eat it. Sorry to share a bad experience.

The location is the main reason to stay here. The Monorail and GOKL Bus are an easy walk away, and shopping centres are just minutes away, so I was able to pick up juice, snacks and water nearby and keep them in the bar fridge. The AC worked, which was a real relief in the Malaysian humidity. Still, the hotel feels below average for a budget place, and the decor is very bare. For a 48-hour layover it did the job. I was glad my stay was only 48 hours, and for anything longer I'd look for somewhere more modern and upmarket.

The good part is the location, right by the viral damascus restaurant, chagee and lot 10 mall. The receptionist was friendly too. But I have serious doubts about room cleanliness. My brother and I started itching as soon as we lay down, and it continued until morning. The bed looked yellowish, so I didn't feel comfortable getting under the blanket. There were marks all over the walls, and the room had a stuffy, old smell. Maybe the lack of a window was the reason, though I've stayed in another windowless hotel that didn't smell nearly as bad. The bathroom made me uneasy as well. The waterhole wouldn't close properly, so I worried there might be cockroaches. Whenever I used the sink, I could hear water gurgling from the closet.

Most malls, markets and restaurants are within walking distance since the hotel sits right in the city centre. The staff were helpful and the service was good. For what you pay, it’s good value.
