Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown

Que looked after me so well throughout my stay and made the whole trip memorable. She went above and beyond, setting a standard the two other Marriots I stayed at in Malaysia and Singapore didn’t match. I arrived at 730am after a red eye flight and expected only to leave my bags, but they let me check in early. I was so grateful to shower. The room was clean, quiet, dark with the curtains closed, roomy enough for two, and had great shower pressure and temperature. It was my first visit to KL, and the location was perfect, near the train station and close to so many things to see and do. I’ll definitely stay again on my next trip.

Breakfast had plenty of variety and was delicious, and there are lots of well-known kopitiams nearby. The clean rooms look out toward Merdeka Tower, KL Tower, and Petronas Twin Towers. Staff were efficient and friendly, especially Kesavan, who was helpful and very friendly. The location is strategic for exploring Chinatown and the surrounding area.

I had a really pleasant stay, especially thanks to the location. Chinatown is a 1-minute walk away, Petaling Street takes 2-3 minutes, and Merdeka 118 and Merdeka Square are nearby. Plenty of coffee shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants are in the area. We got an upgrade to a room overlooking Merdeka 118, and daily cleaning happened without us needing to ask. They also let us check out late, at around 3 PM. The pool has views of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline, including Merdeka 118. Breakfast has a wide selection. Jann, the bar on the 7th floor beside the pool, has a nice atmosphere. The gym is small but fine for a quick workout. There were a couple of service hiccups. The front desk didn’t recognize my Marriott Bonvoy membership when we checked in. After drinks and snacks at the bar, I asked to put the bill on my room and settle it at checkout. They initially agreed, but around 11 PM I got a call asking me to come down and pay, because they couldn’t leave the bill open until the next day. I offered to pay at breakfast, but they wouldn’t accept that either. They said it was because my credit card hadn’t been charged a deposit at check-in, even though I’d requested that at the front desk. The team were friendly and helpful, including when I had an accident and they gave me first aid. It’s a no-frills hotel with a comfy bed and a spacious, modern room. A comfortable place to stay if you’re not expecting anything extravagant. I chose it for the strategic location, right at the entrance to Chinatown and near a metro station, with a full view of the new tower in KL.
