Number Eight

The hosts have been running up and down to make sure everyone gets a warm welcome, a comfortable stay, and a safe departure. Even though they're quite busy, they still try to keep the place tidy, clean, and well maintained. I didn't expect such a warm reception. The hosts are super friendly, and the tenants feel like family.

I’ve tried 5-6 places described as "guest houses", "backpackers joint", "budget accommodations" or "motels", and Number Eight Guesthouse is the best place I've stayed in the city. It's a two-story old world place that turns away from the bustle of Jalan Alor and Jalan Bukit Bintang. The WiFi is about 16 GB/s, nights are quiet, and the managers run things with pride and kindness. Thanks, Abdullah and Khaled, for making it feel like a home away from mine.

The real place was nothing like the pictures. The rooms were dirty, and I even found a small stone in my bed sheet. A salamander watched me while I showered. Drunk people shouted and sang right outside the guest house, so there was no escaping the chaos at night.

The staff are kind and respectful, especially khaled, kashf, and the others. Sometimes at Hotel 8 you can't complain or accept services, even if they're expensive, but the staff always make you happy. I really hope to see 8 become more than a guest house, maybe a 4 star place.
