Space Hotel

The capsule is roomy, and there’s a locker for your backpack and shoes. It’s clean, which is really what matters most to me. Sound and light don’t stay out very well, though. You can hear people coming and going, especially in a capsule near the door, plus the card unlocking sounds. If the lights are on outside, your capsule gets lit up too. The blue light can be switched off. Nobody really uses it, it’s just for photos.

I spent nearly two weeks here, and the team made the place feel like home. Everyone was warm and helpful, and I enjoyed the vibe with the other guests too. Thanks especially to DJ Stephenchong, Islam, and Mia for making the stay extra special. The area felt very safe, even when I was walking around at 11 PM or midnight. You can get to the city center in about a 30-minute walk or a 15-minute car ride, and there are authentic places nearby. A mini market, banks with ATMs, pharmacies, and a metro station are all within about a five-minute walk. Everything was spotlessly clean, from the bedding and towels to the capsules and shared areas, which get cleaned throughout the day. The capsule was cozy and the design of the space was lovely. It felt more like a hotel than a hostel. I’d absolutely stay again.

Being right in the middle of Chinatown is a great location, and the place is spotlessly clean. I slept better here than I have in months, even without earplugs. The pod has lovely panel lighting, its own aircon, and a quilt, which I prefer to a blanket. Best pillow I’ve had during 7.5 months of travelling. You can hear the door close when someone uses the keycard, though.

Getting around KL was easy from here, with Petaling Street a minute away on foot and Pasar Seni MRT station about five minutes away. At around IDR 150k (40 RM) a night, I thought it was an affordable price for the privacy and security. The pod feels private and secure, and I liked that its door locks. I felt safe leaving my things inside while I was out exploring. There are separate lockers too, which add some extra security. The capsule setup is comfortable and high-tech, and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. A really good option for a solo traveler looking for a comfortable stay in Chinatown KL.
