All the bedsheets were extremely dirty, and the shower room looked old and unclean. The sink was clogged too. My 2D1N stay was awful. First I was assigned room 1, but it smelled bad, so I asked to move. The air conditioning didn’t work in room 2, and room 3, which they offered next, had no windows. I also had trouble reaching them by phone. After several unanswered calls, I contacted Agoda and got a different number. The owner gave me a security password for the main door, but the damaged lock meant the door could be opened without it. I don’t recommend staying here. The location is convenient if you’re taking the bus to Bako National Park.

It’s cheap, so you get what you pay for, but there’s nothing special about it. Other hostels offer better value and service for backpackers, including tips on what to do and chances to meet people. I’m a little surprised by all the really positive ratings.

It’s a basic, clean place for backpackers on a budget. Staff sent the access details quickly after I booked online. The dorm was pretty hot, though the fans made it bearable.

The room was dirty and smelly, and it wasn’t ready at check-in time. It also smelled of smoke even though it was listed as non-smoking, and it was noisy. There was no TV, the bathroom was shared, and everything was really dirty. I’m very unhappy with my stay. You can’t offer this to guests. Don’t book!

There was nobody to check us in when we arrived. We called over and over, but no one answered, or they hung up. One room door was open, but inside we found used tissues and bedsheets. We had to find another hostel.
