Waterfront Labuan Financial

The hotel has seen better days and needs proper refurbishment. The rooms are big and spacious, which is the main positive, but the carpet needs a thorough clean. The Wi-Fi was barely usable, with weak signal and slow speed. The TV channels didn’t work at all in the first room. They moved me to another room where the picture was grainy, then even that poor picture disappeared after a few hours. I called reception twice to ask maintenance to fix it, but nobody came. The first room had no toilet paper, and neither room had face or hand towels. They said all the towels were being washed, but even at 7pm none were in sight. I’d avoid it if you can. Hotel AiFa is more conveniently placed for food and pubs, all within walking distance, compared with Waterfront.

We had laundry go missing, and there were other problems too. A staff member was caught stealing from us during our stay, but management took no action. Service was slow when it happened at all, and the staff seemed unwilling to help guests. My advice is simple: DO NOT STAY HERE.

The room was quite large, comfortable, and good for the price, so the stay felt worthwhile. The location is strategic too. Breakfast was only so-so, with very few dishes on offer.

Breakfast was terrible. Still, the location works well for offshore or offshore banking workers, since the hotel is right beside Labuan Marina, where you can board your launch boat, and across from Labuan Financial Park, which you can walk to. For a holiday, it’s okay as well.
