We spent our first night in Malacca at this impressive three-storey corner house. There are three rooms on each of the first and second floors, plus a guest room on the ground floor that suits older people who find stairs difficult. With five toilets, nobody has to wait long to use one in the morning. The kids loved the swimming pool and slide by the carpark. It’s about 1.2 metres deep, so adults need to watch them closely. Rooms come with one, two, or three beds, so choose your setup early. There’s a long dining table for family chats, karaoke equipment in the living room, filtered water in the kitchen, and an induction hob for late-night instant noodles. Rental cost: RM2,184/night

We stayed in the corner unit with the pool and slide, and it was filthy. They seemed to rent it to the next guests without cleaning: rubbish was under the bed, cockroaches were all over the kitchen, and there were bed bugs. I don’t think they changed the sheets at all. I couldn’t put up with it.

The house is huge and check-in and check-out were easy. It’s very close to Jonker Street, with lots of shops and places to eat nearby, and the host was quick to respond and friendly. The price was really low compared with other homestays in the same area. Best place to stay, highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We found the host responsive and accommodating, and the large house was clean. Check-in and check-out were straightforward, with plenty of shops and eateries nearby. Great location, highly recommended.
