Mercure Miri City Centre

I really liked the hotel’s murals and interior design, and it’s easy to walk to restaurants and hawkers from here. The staff’s attentiveness and service were my favorite part of the stay, and my room was always clean when I returned. The only downside was hearing random noises at night. Otherwise, all was good.

The room was clean and the whole place had a calm, welcoming feel. I felt at home during my stay, and it was a really comfortable, cozy hotel. I’d happily recommend it.

The staff were lovely, and the hotel felt fresh and modern. We also appreciated the complimentary gelato and soft drinks in the bar fridge. A snack platter option at the rooftop bar would be handy, since you can get hungry after an afternoon swim. We had a great stay.

We chose Mercure for a special New Year’s countdown and asked for a boulevard-facing room so we could watch the fireworks. The large window was covered in green algae and dirt, so the view was impossible to enjoy. At the front desk, we asked to change rooms and were told every room was in the same condition. We weren’t told about the problem beforehand, even though we were later informed at checkout on 1/1/2026 that the hotel had known about it for some time and had arranged for someone to handle it. Why weren’t we told when we clearly requested that view? If we’d known, we could have cancelled, requested a refund, and stayed elsewhere. The experience ruined what should have been a happy, once-a-year occasion. The room’s actual condition didn’t match the photos or the standards we expected from the Mercure brand, and it seriously harms the brand’s reputation. A complimentary brunch offered after we emailed Agoda to complain doesn’t fix it or bring back that night. We’ve stayed at Pullman many times without an experience like this. We’re deeply disappointed with the hotel’s transparency and how it handled the issue, and I wouldn’t recommend it for an important occasion.
