Raia Beach Resort Port Dickson

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the pool was lovely and well looked after. The air conditioning in our room could have been cooler, but it didn't take much away from the stay. We really enjoyed the food. Breakfast had a good range, and the dinner we ordered through room service was exceptionally tasty. It arrived promptly and was better than we expected. The location was convenient and the facilities were excellent. Everyone on staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Shamimi at reception deserves a special thank you for her warm hospitality and great service. The female chef on breakfast duty was also kind, attentive and friendly, and made us feel welcome while dining. We had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend the hotel. We look forward to coming back.

The resort's decorations were beautiful and its location seemed convenient, so I was excited about the stay. That changed at check-in. I'm a wheelchair user and had made a special request when booking through Agoda. The front desk said my room wasn't ready and that I had first been assigned an upper-floor room. I asked for a ground-floor room instead, and the staff member said she'd arrange one. After almost 45 minutes, I got a key. The room they assigned still required climbing several steps, which was absurd for someone using a wheelchair. At reception, I asked why nobody had told me about the steps. The staff member said it was the only ground-floor room available. When I asked how I was meant to reach it in my condition, I got only a hollow apology, with no solution or alternative. I also asked why this hadn't been mentioned earlier. The staff member said they couldn't detect my contact number. In my past experience, almost all properties I've booked through Agoda contact me directly through the Agoda app, rather than calling or using WhatsApp. I asked whether a refund was possible and was told no. Desperate, I asked again how I was supposed to get to the room, or whether I was expected to crawl. The staff member didn't answer and just carried on working at the counter as if I wasn't there. I've stayed at many hotels and rarely met front desk staff with so little empathy. I was devastated and walked away. This was my first visit, and it will absolutely be my last time at this resort.

The room was comfortable, and the facilities and location made for a pleasant stay. Being near the beach was a real plus. But the front desk experience left us upset. We were traveling with a small child and politely asked the female receptionist if we could check in just 30 minutes early. She refused without any flexibility and asked for extra payment, even though we had booked online. We also asked to speak with the manager, but the response and tone were much the same. It left us wondering if we were treated this way because we're foreigners. As paying guests, we expect basic respect, and being spoken to so rudely and dismissively was frustrating and uncomfortable. I hope management takes the issue seriously and improves the front desk staff's attitude and professionalism so future guests have a better experience.

The accommodation was really nice, and it felt like a private resort since it wasn't too crowded. Our room faced the pool, which was amazing, and the kids loved the pool and slides. The beach was easy to get to, breakfast was great, and the place was wheelchair friendly for elderly guests. I loved it and will definitely come again. Thank you!
