Starlink Hotel

Having a car makes the location manageable. The hotel is behind star megamall, though it's a little way from the city. Parking was the bigger hassle, since there are very few spaces and at night I usually couldn't find one. The hotel was mostly fine otherwise. They also charge extra for another room key card.

The strong water pressure and the mall just a two minute walk away were the upsides of our three night family room stay. The room itself needs attention: the bedsheet was torn, mold was growing in the shower silicone, and pieces of vinyl flooring were peeling up by the entrance and bathroom. I nearly tripped on them a couple of times. There was no fridge, and although three adults were staying, we got just one access card. A second card costs extra, which makes getting in and out separately impractical.

Room 813 had a mechanical or compressor room inside it, or attached directly to it. The machinery kept making noise and vibrating all night, and it was loud enough to make sleeping very difficult. It really affected my stay. Guests should be warned before being given a room with this much mechanical noise. Anyone who sleeps lightly will have trouble there.

I've stayed here whenever I visit Sibu and hadn't had trouble before. On my latest Tuesday night stay, though, I woke from a nap with a few itchy red bites. I hope management checks the bed cleanliness and improves it.
