Hotel Sitiawan

The room felt dated, but it was clean and impressively spacious. The tiles were dust-free, the sheets, mattress, and pillows had no hair or dirty spots, and the bed was comfortable with no back or neck pain. Water pressure was fantastic. The main drawback was poor soundproofing. For the price, the stay exceeded expectations. The receptionists are why my rating is high. Boss, if you see this, please give them a raise or bonus. The woman and man who helped me were friendly, accommodating, informative, attentive, and apologetic. We had lots of luggage, so they arranged a first-floor room. We arrived before check-in time, and they got the rooms ready for us. We appreciated that small gesture. The male receptionist was very apologetic when the fire alarm went off unexpectedly around midday, and he apologized again after I came back from dinner.

We had a delightful stay at the Sitiawan Hotel. The location was convenient, and the room was spacious and comfortable, with a large bed and tasteful decor. The next morning, we found there was no shower water, and the room had no phone to call reception. We checked out and asked the same Chinese female receptionist why. She said the whole hotel area had water problems for the past two days. When I asked why no one told us at check-in, she stayed silent until a male Chinese staff member came over to apologize. I suggested putting up a sign so guests would be told about this or other issues. Very disappointing stay. We walked in to check at Hotel Sitiawan because trip.com showed no rooms available, and the Chinese female receptionist said a three-bed room was available. After checking in, we went up to the second floor. There are no guest lifts. The room was basic with no amenities. We left our luggage and went to an event, then came back late after midnight and went to bed.

The room was very clean compared with many other hotels we've stayed in, and it was spacious too. Staff were friendly and informative, and free parking is available. There’s no lift, and the stairs upstairs are a little narrow and low. They don’t clean the room as part of room service, so you have to ask for fresh towels, toilet paper, water, and other supplies.
