Knight Alley Hotel

At Knight Alley Hotel, the staff were kind, friendly and helpful the whole time, and always greeted us with a smile. Check-in was smooth, the service was excellent, and the room was clean, well maintained and comfortable. We had a great stay, and I'd definitely recommend it to others. Thanks to the team for looking after us so well.

This was my second stay here, and I'd definitely come back. The hotel has wonderful facilities and is well placed for hawker centers and Taiping lake. The room was okay, though the bathroom stayed hot even with the exhaust fan running. Maybe management could tint the glass windows.

With CNY coming up, the hotel gave us free angpau packets with a cute design. We booked through Agoda for about RM90 a night. The common areas have nice decor, and they provide a hair dryer, shampoo and body wash. There's a water dispenser on every floor, plenty of outlets in the room, and breakfast is complimentary while supplies last. There were even some leftovers at night. Receptionists were friendly, and several eateries, a convenience store and Taiping mall are all within a 10-minute walk. There isn't dedicated customer parking, so check the parking notice to see where you can park. The room could use upgrades: the flooring looked dirty and worn, the toilet hose leaked when the water was turned on, and the wall near the bathroom had mold. It also smelled moldy in the room. The exhaust fan helped, but the smell lingered all night. Soundproofing was poor too. We could hear people going in and out and talking loudly, staff vacuuming the common areas in the morning, and noises when a water heater was switched on, whether in our room or someone else's. It was quite disturbing.

Having a kitchen and free breakfast was a great bonus, even if the breakfast choices were limited. The room was much bigger than the bed-only spaces I’ve had at other budget hotels, and everything felt clean and comfortable. It exceeded what I expected, which explains the high rating.
