We paid for two nights but left a day early and stayed outside the park. For the price, the run-down sites, cold showers, and mostly unfriendly, unhelpful staff were disappointing. We tried the 6am game drive. It was okay, the guide knew the animals and the price was standard, but it wasn’t anything special. We saw much more just driving around the park ourselves.

We’d planned to stay two days, but left after 24 hours. We’d been to seven other places in Namibia and felt welcomed at all of them. At Halali, staff were the worst, except at the restaurant. The manager and Tisla shouldn’t be working in tourism if they don’t like tourists. Big Love to Tisla 🤎 We got to Halali "Resort" on 4th of November at 1:41pm, after five hours on the road. At reception, Tisla’s first words were, "there is no check-in before 2pm". The chalets looked straight out of the 70's, with ancient bathrooms and beds. The sheets were wet, the shower filled up like a pool, and the barbecue area was dirty with the previous visitors' leftovers. We’d booked a game drive from 7pm to 10pm for 3,000 N$ for 4. Just before it, I went to reception to pay. As I counted out the notes, Tisla grabbed them. I was confused and started to hand over the 1,000 N$ I thought was still needed to make 3,000 N$, but she said she’d only taken 1,000 N$ and immediately asked, "you want to check the cameras????" I could only say no. The camera was behind Tisla, so it would have been useless. NEVER AGAIN

The pool was lovely after a busy day out sightseeing, and we had the best night ride of our stay here. The bush chalets were clean and comfortable. The dining room was pleasant, and staff were friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was okay, and one older gentleman, who I assume was a chef, was friendly and asked where we were traveling from. The restaurant staff, especially the women serving, were unfriendly, with no smiles. They seemed more interested in standing around gossiping about us. Dinner wasn’t great, and there wasn’t much choice.

We left a day early because the atmosphere was so bad. Staff at the safari and hotel/camp were inhospitable, and the poor service went from check-in through check-out. During the rest of our stay in other places, we’d met very friendly staff, but Halali resort was the complete opposite. Food was really bad and oily, and the rooms didn’t feel welcoming. Staff also seemed to have no information about the different gates. I do not recommend this place.
