We were tired after an overnight flight and the drive from Windhoek, so didn't explore much. The camping site itself was very nice, with open air hot water showers heated by a wood oven they provide. We bought leg of lamb steaks and firewood for braai, then picked up more lamb the next day to take to the park. The lamb was very nice, so I'd recommend getting some. Our host was friendly without being overbearing. We camped for one night on our way from Windhoek to the Transfrontier Park, and would absolutely recommend staying here, especially on a trip to or from Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Hanli, thanks for having us. Hope some of the rain we had the following week reached your farm too!

Hanlie was extremely friendly and helpful, and the self catering cottage was simple, comfortable, and very well equipped. We booked just one night to get quick access to Kgalagadi Park, but Terra Rouge impressed us enough that, looking back, we'd have stayed another night. The scenery is stunning, and after good rain it would be lovely to explore on foot. We enjoyed Kgalagadi, but spending most of the day cooped up in a vehicle can feel limiting. There are giraffe and bokkies on the farm, plenty of birdlife, and we saw bat eared foxes nearby. Terra Rouge could pair well with a park trip if you want more freedom to explore.

Simple camping in a fantastic location. The hot shower is heated by a donkey boiler, and the owner is really friendly and helpful.

We made wonderful memories with Pete and Hannelie. The cozy cottage, lovely conversations at your unique bar, unforgettable gin and tonic sundowner, and warm hospitality all made for such a wonderful time. Stadsjapie and plaasmeisie have arrived home safely. 😀

That walk up the dune at sunset or sunrise, with the silence and all those stars, was magical. We asked on the spur of the moment if we could stay overnight while heading south, even though we had no reservation. The owner hadn't expected us, but had the room ready in exactly 20 minutes. His daughter was lovely, friendly, and very accommodating. We highly recommend the guest farm and its fully equipped chalet. Thank you for everything.
